Getting Started

Having trouble logging in?

If you encounter any login issues, please try the following:

  • Ensure you are connected to the HSCN and your NHS Smart card is properly connected.
  • Try logging out and then logging back in.
  • Contact the Genomics England service desk if problems persist.

If you require user access to the portal, please follow the user access procedures established by your local GLH.

Session Expired?

For security reasons, users will be automatically logged out of all NGIS applications after 30 minutes of inactivity. If you are logged out due to inactivity or your NHS Smart card is removed, the page will prompt you to log back in and will return you to the page you were last viewing.

Your login token will be refreshed (and the 30-minute timeout will be reset) by performing any action within the Interpretation Portal.

If you have been logged into the NGIS system for longer than 12 hours, you will also be required to re-authenticate.

The GMS Interpretation Portal can only be accessed by users connected to the HSCN network and using their NHS Smart card. Your credentials will have been set up by the Genomics England Service Desk.
